Algeria-Tunisia: Means to propel tourism cooperation touched on

ALGIERS- The Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Yacine Hamadi, tackled, on Wednesday in Algiers, with his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed Moez Belhassine, the ways to further strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, particularly tourism.

In this regard, Mr. Hamadi declared to the press after the meeting that “discussions focused on several points relating to tourism”, presenting his thanks to the Tunisian Minister of Tourism who was among the first to have accepted the invitation to attend the opening work of the 21st international tourism and travel fair, after a two-year shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

During this meeting, the two parties evaluated the progress of the work agreed in Tunisia during the 5th session of cooperation between the two countries, according to Mr. Hamadi who noted that Tunisia which will be represented by the Tunisian National Office of Tourism, operators and partners in the field of tourism, “will participate with force” in the Fair.

For his part, the Tunisian Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts emphasized the importance of his country’s participation in the 21st edition of the International Tourism and Travel Fair for professionals in the field, in order to provide an opportunity for Tunisian operators to meet their Algerian counterparts with the aim to consolidate cooperation relations and exchange experiences in the field of tourism.

The Tunisian minister praised “the good relations linking Algeria and Tunisia at all levels, particularly between the Heads of State of the two countries, but also in terms of tourism, insisting on the need to strengthen and develop them, in particular in terms of training in Tourism, investment and exchange of experiences”.
