ALGIERS – The Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Lakhdar Salmi, received, on Sunday in Algiers, a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with which he discussed the various financial and economics carried out by Algeria.

In a statement to the press at the end of the meeting, held at the headquarters of the APN, Mr. Salmi specified that the meeting “focused on the economic and financial reforms carried out by Algeria”.

“The foundations of these reforms were laid by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the day of his election as head of the country”, he added, recalling that “the political and institutional reforms which are a solid basis for the launch of financial and economic ones, are part of the 54 commitments of his program”.

He indicated, in this regard, that “after completion of the institutional reconstruction process, financial and economic reforms were launched, following a participatory democratic approach with all the institutions”.

For her part, the head of the IMF delegation, Geneviève Verdier declared that “the discussions and exchanges held with the Finance and Budget Committee of the APN were constructive”.
