Algeria- World Tourism Organization: Means to enhance cooperation, promote destination of Algeria tackled
ALGIERS- Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Yacine Hamadi, held a working session with the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili, during which they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts stated that Mr. Hamadi held a working session on the sidelines of his participation in the works of the 116th session of the Executive Council of the organization, whose activities are being held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during which “a number of common topics were studied with a view to enhancing ways of cooperation between Algeria and the organization.”
On the occasion, the Minister praised “the role of the organization in accompanying Algeria in many projects related to tourism, such as; preparing a strategy for marketing the image and destination of Algeria.”
Mr. Hamadi also noted the “positive results achieved by the third final workshop on strengthening statistical capabilities in tourism, held virtually on May 23 and 24, 2022 within the framework of the ambitious program to enhance statistical capabilities.
The minister renewed “the invitation to the Secretary-General of the organization to pay a working visit to Algeria to embody all the joint operations and attend the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games in Oran, where the countries of the Mediterranean region will gather from the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe in order to further strengthen the bonds of friendship.”
For his part, the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization expressed his “gratitude to the Algerian state for its constant support and cooperation,” stressing “his organization’s determination to expand cooperation relations with Algeria, especially in the field of training, by studying Algeria’s proposal regarding the establishment of a center for African training in the field of tourism in our country.”
The minister had held several bilateral meetings with the President of the Executive Council of the Ivorian World Tourism Organization Siando Fofana and the Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqil Al-Khatib, as well as the Tunisian Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Mohamed Al-Moez Belhossein,” concluded the same statement.
