ALGIERS-The Minister of Energy Transition and Renewable Energy (MTEER), Benattou Ziane received Tuesday a delegation of Tay Group, led by CEO, Mesut Toprak, main shareholder and member of the board of directors of the Algerian-Turkish Company Tayal, the ministry said in a statement.

Mr. Ziane stressed, on this occasion, “the privileged bilateral relations between the two countries and the will of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to increase the volume of Turkish investments in Algeria and, thus, breathing new life into the existing cooperation,” said the same source.

With more than 60 years of experience in the textile industry, from cotton fiber to ready-to-wear, Mr. Mesut Toprak, for his part, presented the vision of his industrial group, by “creating a latest-generation integrated manufacturing plant including photovoltaic panels, cells, Wafers allowing the export of more than 75% of its production”, added the press release.

“The Tay group intends to invest in renewable energies in Algeria with the assistance of MTEER in order to become an important player in this field”, underlined the press release.

The Turkish official also inquired about the state of progress and the terms of the call for tenders project to investors for the construction of “Solar 1000” PV solar power plants, expressing his company’s determination to participate in this ambitious project.

The minister reiterated the availability of his ministerial department to support the Tay group in the realization of all these renewable energy projects in Algeria.
